ALBESTA ACADEMY's
curriculum is based on very strict compliance with the
National Policy on Education and the Ministry of
Education guidelines for the establishment of Private
Secondary Schools .
We equally run segment for the Junior Secondary School
with the following subjects: English Language/Literature
in English, Mathematics, Integrated Science, Social
Studies, Business Studies, Introductory Technology,
French, Yoruba, Igbo/Hausa, Christian Religious Studies,
Music, Fine Art, Home Economics, Agricultural Science,
Physical and Health Education and Computer. This
terminates in the 3rd year with the State JSCE and NECO
external examinations.
The School has procured the Lagos State Scheme of work
for the Junior and Senior Secondary Schools, National
Curriculum for all subjects, WAEC, NECO, the complete
pack of Cambridge "O" and "A" level and SAT Syllabusses.
Another segment is for the Senior Secondary School with

SCIENCE DEPARTMENT
Science Department is one of the KEY departments in the
school. The department aims at developing students'
interest in science and to develop them in choosing
careers in Science, that would make them useful to
themselves and the society at large in the areas of
Science and Technology.
The following subjects are offered in the department:

Each of the subjects offered in the department has its

SOCIAL SCIENCE AND COMMERCIAL DEPARTMENT
The Social Science and Commercial Department represent
the arm of the school which develops the totality of
students with particular reference to the three
educational domains- cognitive, affective and
psychomotor.
The following subjects are offered in the department:
• Economics • Geography • Social Studies • Business
studies • Accounts • Commerce This department is headed by a Head of Department (H.O.D),
who works co-operatively with other members of teaching
staff who directly guide the students in turn.
There is provision for subject special rooms for
individual subject teaching activities. The special
rooms for each subject aimed at developing the minds and
interest of students, and more importantly, developing
suitable and usable instructional materials for the
subjects.

CO - CURRICULA ACTIVITIES
The School programme encompasses outdoor activities and
club meetings such as: Table-Tennis, Volleyball,
Football and Membership of Junior Engineer and
Technician (JETS or Science), Young Farmers, Music/
Choral Group, Press, Literary and Debating, Egbe Akeko
Ede Yoruba, Drama and Home Makers Club.
In the music group, there are teachers who play and
teach different musical instruments like organ/piano,
violin, recorder, flute, double bass, trumpet and so on,
so that students who are interested in music can be
brought up to play classical music. |
